Understanding Today, Recent, and HRV
Three useful views with different meanings.
Today describes the day
The daily view compares eligible HRV and resting heart rate with earlier days from the same source. With limited evidence it can show an explicitly labelled early read. Daily summaries do not send overload alerts.
Recent describes a resting window
Recent considers suitable readings over a shorter resting window. It keeps its own evidence time and may differ from Today. An older HRV measurement is not presented as proof of your current condition.
HRV is a measurement, not a mood
Heart-rate variability describes variation in the timing between beats. Resile calculates RMSSD from available beat-interval recordings. Apple Health’s stored HRV quantity is SDNN; they are different calculations, even though both use milliseconds.
Read the context, not just the colour
The shared bar runs Overload → Elevated → Normal → Great. Look at the scope, timestamp, explanation and evidence quality alongside it. An early read is provisional; a missing reading never becomes an automatic Normal.
Resile is for general wellbeing. Its physical-strain patterns do not identify emotions or provide a medical diagnosis.
